About the Art

"La Nouvelle Femme" is an homage to Alphonse Mucha's favored subject, the women of La Belle Époque, or “The New Woman". Characterized by a break from Victorian-era gender norms that stripped women of their agency, strength, and independence, Mucha painted subjects that highlighted their confidence, power, and individualism.  

This puzzle was created with images taken from the works of Leslie Carter (1908) and The Precious Stones series (1900).
